JetBlue boosts passenger traffic numbers

DAYTONA BEACH — The JetBlue effect continues to be felt at Daytona Beach International Airport.

Since the airline launched its daily nonstop New York-Daytona Beach service on Jan. 7, the Volusia County-run airport has seen double-digit percentage increases in its monthly passenger traffic counts.

April continued that trend, with the airport reporting 67,577 travelers pass through its gates, up 10.9 percent from 60,939 the same month a year ago.
