OUTLOOK 2016: Volusia, Flagler Brimming With Planned Growth

Fifty years ago, vast stretches of open grasslands and woods covered what is now the intersection of Interstate 95 and LPGA Boulevard.

Back then, there was no interchange and there wasn’t even an interstate coming through Daytona Beach until 1975. No one was dreaming yet what would be there in 2015 and what would be on tap for 2016.

Integra plans new Daytona Beach luxury apartment complex

DAYTONA BEACH – The area around the LPGA Boulevard and Interstate 95 interchange is getting some residential construction to go along with the new commercial growth.

Lake Mary-based Integra Land Co. is preparing to break ground before the end of the year on Integra Sands, a 264-unit luxury apartment complex along the east side of Williamson Boulevard and just north of LPGA Boulevard.

JetBlue to begin Daytona Beach service to New York Jan. 7

DAYTONA BEACH — JetBlue Airways will begin offering daily nonstop flights between Daytona Beach and New York City beginning Jan. 7, one month earlier than originally planned.

The airline this week began offering tickets for sale on its website — jetblue.com — for flights between Daytona Beach International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

TopBuild agrees to lease Daytona site for future HQ

DAYTONA BEACH — TopBuild Corp., Volusia County’s newest public company, has agreed to keep its headquarters in Daytona Beach for years to come.

The company, spun off by Michigan-based Masco Corp. at the end of June, signed a 12-year lease for a 21-acre wooded site along Williamson Boulevard, just south of Dunn Avenue, where it plans to move its headquarters late next year upon completion of the 65,700-square-foot building.
